FESTIVAL DE THÉÂTRE DE RUE D’AURILLAC

The Festival International de Théâtre de Rue d’Aurillac is the world’s largest festival dedicated to street theatre and public-space arts. Held annually in the city of Aurillac, France, the festival transforms the entire city into a vast open-air stage, welcoming artists, performers, cultural professionals, and spectators from around the world. Created in 1986, it has become a benchmark event for street arts at both the European and international levels.

Over four days each August, streets, squares, parks, and public spaces host thousands of performances, including street theatre, contemporary circus, dance, music, puppetry, visual arts, and participatory artistic interventions. The festival features an official program of selected companies alongside hundreds of independent “Compagnies de Passage” (visiting companies), creating one of the most dynamic cultural gatherings in Europe.
